Pre-theater there's nothing so nice as popping into the bar at the Grand Cafe at Geary and Taylor and getting one of their wood-oven fired pizzas and a drink. Even a roll of doughy bread which came with a yummy sun-dried tomato olive oil for dipping.
Other people seem to have found out about it. People hanging out after shopping, or post-matinee. Tourists mixed with locals. Still we were able to find a not-too-loud corner to slouch in and fit eight people. No easy task in San Francisco!
